Flight

Lyrics for Flight written by Sage Reynolds
Grey rock wall, blue skies,
A lion in the sun, full size,
Tall white pine, a bear's right paw,
Prey on the run, lock jaw.
Eighth hour, Full REM,
Same roads, travel worn,
Arms out, eyes closed,
Mind let's go,
Off the cliff the air rips by you,
Fly.
Town of dreams, same name, lost,
Streets change, the shape of things,
Travel on, run, by East bound train, takes,
Time to find, what's
Here and not then.
Eighth hour, full REM,
Same roads, travel worn,
Arms out, flung wide, eyes closed,
Mind let's go,
Off the cliff the air rips by you,
Landscape far beneath,
Try, you drop like grey rock, dead weight,
Balance, cut your teeth,
Fly.

Word Search

Lyrics for Word Search written by Sage Reynolds
We search for things to say,
"The snow is deep today,"
"It's windy,"
"Cold out,"
Standing,
In the lane.
You sew your hands beside,
The clerks in blue can't hide,
Their smug looks,
Cheap tricks,
Shuffle steps,
Teleprompt the guide.
I wont be home tonight,
To yield or run or fight,
The sorrow,
Burrows,
Takes hold,
Drown within sight.
Blue ice, green hill,
Swoops in for the kill,
Fear binds, Hate dines,
Young blood foots the bill.
There's not a lot to say,
"The snow is deep today."

Lone Rider
05:00
|
|||
Lyrics for Lone Rider written by Sage Reynolds
Always with a sure hand, floats across the hot sand,
Bones a blaze of white,
Lone rider, no shade, air currents, long wave,
Lake a welcome sight.
No rest when the hunt is on, move along,
To the pines of the distant hills, and the night, and the prey.
Four ways of going, barely showing,
Fault of hand or eye,
Twenty years of searching, all around the steel string,
Endlessly hone the mind.
More thrill when the stakes are high, ride the line,
True life when the end is nigh, it's the chase, the race of red and blue.
Only lonely, what's your story, ride out with the night,
Painted bells ring, nightingales sing, will the prey take flight.
Blue jeans and black top, empty voices don't stop,
Uniform in depth and sheen,
Green eyes with rust spots, seek your secret lost thoughts,
Burn down the post and beam.
More pain when the root's exposed, hide your past,
Twin life when darkness rose, in the black, with the track in plain view.
North wind, Eastern light, cold day begins,
South face, Western rise, turns, sees, runs free, for now.

Reverie

Lyrics for Reverie written by Sage Reynolds
You walk the silk road to anywhere,
Riding boots and blue jeans, white blouse,
Piled in a heap by the bedroom door,
With sweet sounds through my radio.
You're all the mind's food I need,
Endless slow replay, running through the days,
In love with you despite the pain,
Lady of my dreams, nightmares, and reverie.
I take the slow boat to nowhere,
Floating on the current whim, half lost,
The track hums, bodies meet,
Lying in the morning sun, a memory too strong.
You're all the heart's fire I need,
Thought of slow delay, counting back the days,
In love with you despite the pain,
Lady of my dreams, nightmares, and reverie.
You held my eyes with your own, too long,
I hit rewind in my minds eye, the first song.
You held my eyes,
We rode the highs,
Through sunlit skies,
Daydream reprise.

Wood Fire
04:15
|
|||
Lyrics for Wood Fire written by Sage Reynolds
In a sunlit room by the riverside,
Dust in rays, it floats by the plants and fabric falls,
Smells of wood on fire and the leaves of grey,
Sounds of life drift down, it's the ebb and flow of day.
Time wears on, Where's on?, Where's on?,
Rise and cross the room to the place where music's played,
Thoughts cross your mind like the bees of summer,
Buzz and nag and swell 'til something breaks.
Throw the stereo, Watch sound fly.
Long arc in space then,
Short crash and burn when,
Gear hits the fire and sound explodes,
Mind wears out, Where's out?, Where's out?
It's the only house with two tone smoke.
Throw the stereo, Watch sound fly.
It's still in the room, when the noises resume, not half as bad.
I remember the light, and the dust and the night, three shades of reason.
I'll make the fire again with wood a little drier,
We'll walk the land tomorrow with hearts a little lighter.
By the river that runs,
Where the bees did buzz,
In the forest that talks,
It's the ebb and flow.

Betty & Joyce

|

Lyrics for Betty & Joyce written by Sage Reynolds
By the side door breeze is blowing up the lane,
Her hair's undone,
Watching birds as they fly away with her dreams.
In the back seat Betty's driving you insane,
She rides the curb,
Smile & nod as she cuts you up at the seems.
It's the same old story,
Do it all for the glory,
When it's done you'll have nothing left.
On the front stoop low and rich he sings his pain,
For all the world,
They start to dance and the house it shakes, it leans.
From the top floor Joyce the baker starts to shout,
She's out of salt,
Grain and fire ground by her own means.
It's the same old story,
Do it all for the glory,
When it's done you'll have nothing left.
Top rated,
Back shelf,
Side-step to front,
Betty and Joyce.

Full Blue

Lyrics for Full Blue written by Sage Reynolds
Shadow on the run, feather caught the sun,
Angles by your eyes, full blue, winter skies.
While my lung's on fire, white cold, clear desire,
To find the real thing, slow and low, dressin' well in warm attire.
Jack-shirt, wool finesse, don't stop your caress,
You're the real thing, Winter Lady, all my words fail to express.
Hair black as night, snowsuit so white,
Smile with your eyes, full blue, winter skies.
High boots, evergreens, camp time, switch to jeans,
We make the real thing, warm and dry, “That's the best fire that I've seen.”
Sun fades to night, snow bright, moon light,
Tell's me with her eyes, full blue, “Hold me 'til we rise.”
Now my heart's wild fire, white hot, clear desire,
I found the real thing, with mittens on, Winter Lady, warm sapphire.
Winter Lady, lights my fire,
Winter Lady, warm sapphire.

Nine

|

Lyrics for Nine written by Sage Reynolds
Nine, burn your time,
And mine, thoughts in line.
Your face so pale, the ending starts,
Leaving the room hand to eyes, cutting ties, sailing through the wall,
The sundries fall.
The reach and tumble, the startled call,
She's not the one to count your stars, blind in bars, stumbling through it all,
A state of loss.
Where it went, burnt and bent, dark calls.
Nine, burn your time,
And mine, rain and vine.
The feeling's visual, black and orange,
Lost in a scape of moving lines, thoughts unwind, racing, vague recall,
A sense of awe.
At nine a.m. your eyes are still closed,
À vingt et un sa jour est done, you sprint and run, fighting full withdrawal.
The fire ate the hours, rain put the coals out, mind that devours.
Nine, burn your time,
And mine, thought design.
Break line, waste time.
Nine, thoughts unwind.
